Purpose and Programs

Statement of Purpose

We believe that “Children are a gift from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3).  Therefore, we understand what an awesome responsibility it is to care for children.  A child care center is never a substitute for a strong Christian family.  Our objective is not to replace, but to supplement and strengthen the family by supplying guidance in genuine spiritual growth, intellectual stimulation at your child’s level, and care that promotes growth in the daily development of your child.

Currently, we offer a daycare/preschool program for children 6 weeks of age

through the K-5.  We also offer before and after school care and a summer camp program for children 6-11 years old.  We also include many extracurricular activities, computer classes, music classes, and Spanish classes as a part of our regular program for K3 children and older.

Children can also attend the learning program only for K3 and older.

Curriculum

Abeka is a quality educational system from a Christian perspective and these curriculum guides are used in our K2 and older learning programs.  This is a phonics based program published by Pensacola Christian College.  Our learning programs are geared for the development of motor skills and sensory processes as well as social interaction.  Each age group works on their level and ability, while providing a challenging and enjoyable classroom experience. In addition to learning programs our K3 – K5 students participate weekly in Spanish lessons with a native speaking teacher, and Library time, Music, and Computers with an experienced resource teacher.

We also hold chapel on Tuesday mornings for all rooms Toddlers and up.  An age appropriate Bible lesson will accompany music and motions as the little ones in our care celebrate and learn more about God and His goodness.

Staff Education

Our teachers are highly trained and well qualified to care for children.  They are certified in first aid, CPR, food safety, and utilize continuing education in-services for further preparation.  We also encourage our staff to seek new and interesting ways to challenge the children in our Center. Our daytime, afternoon, and floor supervisors are also always circulating and available to provide the room staff with additional training, learning activities or creative solutions for common developmental issues.
